Let’s make a Fun little wooden block photo frame…

Here are the supplies that you will need pictured below… you will also need your own photo to add. I also added 2 cute little flowers when I was finished.

    supplies needed

This was such a fun & easy craft to make! I always have A LOT of scrap wood on hand for all sorts of projects… and I just let my creativity take over. As a person that LOVES to craft, you start to accumulate things over time, so I tend to ALWAYS have LOTS of little flowers, ribbon, raffia, etc… to embellish or decorate with, LOL.

The first thing I did was paint my little board in a dark gray color. (You can use any size board, just cut your burlap and picture to fit.) I let that dry, then I centered and glued down the piece of burlap, followed by the clothes pin at the top middle of the board. After that I glued on my 2 pretty flowers that I picked out, and I think that they matched perfectly!! Finally, just open up the little clothes pin and insert your own photo – and DONE! Super easy, super fun, and SUPER CUTE!

I really love how this turned out! This is a photo of me and my nephew that passed away, whom I love and miss dearly.

    Part of our journey

    Christmas craft show booth

You have to start somewhere right? Well, I love to make things, as you can see. I love to create, craft, make & sell! It definitely is my passion! I got my Silhouette Cameo 5 years ago, and that is when the serious crafting addiction started!

We have done many things that we have loved, and many things that we didn’t love so much. Craft booths definitely are NOT my thing! They are A LOT of work! Sooo much work goes into getting ready for a craft event, and you never know how you will do. You may make a ton of sales, and you may make very little. The amount of work that goes into the travel, the set up, the tear down was enough to set me into tears… Now, I was doing this along with working a day job at a doctors office, so I know that did not make it any easier. I would put days off, evenings, nights, weekends into getting ready for these events – it just was not for me! Now don’g get me wrong, I LOVE going to craft fairs, I just did not love setting up or tearing down for one with not knowing what you would sell, or if you would be coming home with a ton of inventory I had to store. It was just something we had to figure out along the way that was just not meant to be for us and our SimplyStacey business.

    Family In Heaven distressed sign

    Family In Heaven block sign

I had a special request from a friend to make this block sign. I have seen them before, but had never actually made one. It was a challenge I was willing to take on since she had recently lost her grandma that she was VERY close to.

I knew the aprox size I wanted the blocks and base to be, so I put my hubby to work with the cutting and sanding. I went to work on my design studio on my Silhouette Cameo typing in the saying and coming up with a font that my girlfriend liked. Next, I had to find a rocking chair the right size to go with the sign. Hobby Lobby to the rescue once again! Found the perfect one back in the section where they sell doll houses… we found it in white, so had to paint it black – which was okay. Next, I painted the wooden base and blocks with white chalk paint, and distressed with a dry brush technique with black chalk paint. I normally paint my wooden signs, but this one was going to be tricky, so I decided to do the lettering with black matte vinyl. We used transfer tape for the placement, and I think it turned out perfect.

My friend absolutely LOVED her sign, and cherishes it to this day! I feel so blessed to be able to make things that bring joy to others lives! It makes my heart happy, when I can make others happy!

I adore this Love Grows Best distressed sign!

Who doesn’t love this saying? I grew up in a little house, with LOTS of love from my parents! I was incredibly blessed with the most loving parents! They were not rich with money, or things… but they were rich with love! I think this made me into the person I am today.

I picked up this wooden sign from Hobby Lobby, lol… where else? It was just the wood frame and plain white board. It did have the white paint already around the board, but I added a tiny bit of light blue/turquoise to it for a little extra bit of distressed color. I cut the out vinyl with my Silhouette Cameo, and placed it with some transfer paper. I still thought it needed something… hmmm, yes, flowers! (I usually always have some flowers and greenery around the house or in my craft room) So I added the 2 little flowers and greenery with my glue gun, and I totally LOVE how it turned out! I currently have this hanging in the hallway of our own little house that is filled with LOVE.

Sooo, I did a thing… quit my job, and starting my own craft business!

Hey Y’all, I have some BIG NEWS to share with everyone!! I have worked with the same doctor for over 14 years now. She ventured out about 8 years ago and opened her own functional medical practice that has grown and become very successful. She asked myself, and a few others to join her in this journey. It has been an amazing 8 years! I adore her, and I love my job & coworkers but knew it was time for a change.

I put in my notice to quit my job!!! OH EM GEE!! I’m scared, nervous, excited, overjoyed, but mostly ready to start my own journey! Y’all, crafting is my passion! I have become pretty successful at selling the shirts and crafts that I make with my Silhouette Cameo. My Facebook business page continues to grow, my Facebook live craft videos are getting great feed back, and I have recently started my blog. I have also started a YouTube channel (literally has 3 videos, lol) where I will be sharing lots of craft and painting tips. I have sooo many ideas for things I want to incorporate into my SimplyStacey Designs business, and just did not have the time working at the doctors office. Although I am going to miss them all, they did understand and wished me well with growing my own business and success.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for following me on this journey, and for the well wishes, support and prayers!! I’m looking forward to this next chapter in my life, and sharing it all with all of the new friends I have made along the way.

Love & Hugs to all! Stacey

    DIY Easter Bunny Craft

Super Cute & Easy bunny diy craft

Have you attempted to search out an easy diy craft to do with your kiddos, girlfriends or family members? Well, then you have come to the right place! This is a super easy, inexpensive DIY craft. I purchased all of the supplies from Hobby Lobby on sale. See the picture below for the list of supplies needed for this super easy DIY bunny craft…

wooden bunny, cotton for tail, scissors, paint sponge, mod-podge, and card stock.

The first thing I did for this craft was trace the shape of the bunny with a pencil onto your craft paper or card stock. Use your scissors to cut out the shape that you traced on your card stock. Once you have the shape cut out, you will then use your paint sponge to apply the mod podge onto your wooden bunny. Once your bunny is coated with mod-podge, place your card stock onto the wooden shape. Make sure that all of your edges are sealed. I then hot glued my bunny tail in place. You can decorate with any embellishments that you choose. I wanted to add a some pretty little white flowers to the neck, to add a cute little personal touch!

I hope you enjoyed this craft, and had lots of fun putting your own personal spin on it!
