DIY – CUTE Shabby Chic, lace earring holder
OK, you guys know that I love picking things up from thrift stores, garage sales, hand me downs, etc… This is such a great way to save money, to get creative & to have a lot of fun!
I enjoy making so many different things. I learned about a year ago to make faux leather earrings with my Silhouette Cameo. WOW! What a game changer! It saved me some money by making my own, and also made me money by selling them at the same time! When my coworkers saw mine, they of course wanted me to make some to sell. Well, when you have that many earrings, you definitely need something cute to hold them… am I right?
I chose an old picture frame that I picked up at a thrift shop several years ago. I spray painted it white, and used some sand paper to rough it up a little bit. I used some lace that I purchased at Joanne’s Fabric, it was a bag that had about 6-8 different styles of lace. I stapled the lace to one side of the back of the frame, and just pulled it across the back tightly, then stapled it to the other side of the back of the frame. I did this several times, so that I could have several different rows of lace to hang my earrings from.
Be creative, and don’t be afraid to try new things! I had not seen this done before, but in my mind I knew I was going to LOVE it! It gives you a super cute storage idea for all of your faux leather earrings!

Rustic Farmhouse table
I love that my hubby likes to tinker in his garage and make things. I think it makes him feel manly, and gives him a place to hide and de-stress, lol. About two years ago we started doing some wood working projects. When I started in on making rustic, distressed wooden signs… he decided that he wanted to make a few things too. So far he has crafted some shelves, frames for my signs, and my farmhouse table. They have all turned out awesome!
I am so in LOVE with this shelf my husband made! He worked in his garage a few times a week trying to complete it without me knowing! He said he saw something similar on Pinterest, and really wanted to put his own spin on it. He said it took him WEEKS just to gather all the pieces to make sure they matched and looked good together. Any time I popped my head in the garage, he would pretend he was working on another project. He was sooo excited to give it to me. When he presented it to me, he made me close my eyes, and lead me into the living room where he unveiled his masterpiece! I fell IN LOVE with it immediately! I could not wait to decorate it with all the things I love! The best part, is that he made it with his own two hands, which makes it so very special to me.
